OUR STORY ~ A wise woman once told me that “all good things come to those who wait”2009-06-02: The Introduction. I was invited to a friend’s house for dinner one night in June. Little did I know how my life would change. I was the first to arrive and was chatting to the hosts when Hylton arrived, carrying a bunch of flowers for the host. I was blown away by that gesture. Not many men do that sort of thing anymore. We got chatting through the evening and hit it off really well. While driving home, he pulled up next to me and asked if he could get my number. And the rest, as they say, is history. We went on a few dates and things just fell into place, all so natural.2010-01-29: The Proposal. Just over 7 months later we got engaged. We had planned on having a quiet Friday night at home. When I got home we chatted about our day and then Hylton said he wanted to show me something that he had put together for his brother’s bachelor’s party. He seemed to be acting a bit strange, but ignored it. He then connected his speakers to his laptop which I thought was really strange, but again I ignored that. I was told to sit down and press the space bar on his laptop. So I did. And with that Josh Groban’s You Raise Me Up started playing and photo’s of the two of us played on the screen. It was so beautiful. At the end it said “Cath, you are my best friend, I will love you always”. I turned to him and with that he said “I just have one more thing to say”, he went down on his knee and said “Cathryn Lynne Lewis, will you marry me”. Through the tears I saw the most beautiful ring and said “of course I will”. What a magical moment!2010-10-23: The Wedding. We had approximately 6 months of planning and preparations. When our big day arrived, it was the best day we have ever experienced. Walking down the aisle, the excitement bubbling inside me was almost too much. We both had tears in our eyes as we saw each other for the first time that day. We wanted to have a day that we would never forget, surrounded by friends and family. We were truly blessed!
