Wedding Venue North of Johannesburg
Couples looking for places to get married tend to seek out Fridays or Saturdays. It soon comes to a shock that most of the dates have been fully booked. We find it fascinating that many brides and grooms don’t even consider the option of a Sunday wedding. While we understand couples may have some reasons not to get married on a Sunday. Below are some reasons to definitely get married on a Sunday.
Availability: When you fall in love with one of our venues, but the only available dates are on Sundays, is that really a reason to not go for the venue of your dreams? We’ve had brides that come in with dead-set dates on their minds, on an early spring wedding date, only to end up choosing a Sunday in November, based on availability and their decision to hold it at our venue regardless of date. If your desired wedding date is not based on sentimental reasons, it’s best to be flexible with dates. Fridays and Saturdays book up about 10-19 months before the time, leaving Sundays available and subject to our next point.
Discounts: Makiti affordable Sunday weddings, meaning you could save thousands of rands on your wedding day. If you’re on a budget, it’s definitely worth it, and at the same time your dream wedding comes true with some extra money saved for that perfect getaway honeymoon destination.
The perfect atmosphere: For the more down to earth couples who would rather prefer an easy-going wedding reception rather than an all-night party, having your wedding on a relaxing Sunday is the perfect way to start your lives together.
Perfect for the warmer months: As Sunday weddings have a tendency to be celebrated during the day rather than late into the night, they are perfect for couples who want to hold the beauty of the outdoors during the warm weather of summer and spring. Our breathtaking garden settings at Makiti also creates stunning photo opportunities for daytime weddings.
Weekend wedding: Guests from all over that has been invited to the wedding can also be accommodated in our Lodge here at Makiti, this will allow you to spend some quality time with them before leaving for your special honeymoon after the wedding.
Guests that care and love you will definitely make a plan to be part of your special day.
Nestled in the secluded Kromdraai valley, built on a 50 hectare estate, lies our beautiful and exclusive venue in one of South Africa’s well known world heritage sites. The river meanders under big old trees and majestic cliffs that form the backdrop of our beautifully landscaped gardens. Makiti’s first venue was the Ballroom venue which was built in 1996, followed by the Sunset Venue, which was built in 2003 and our latest addition to our exclusive venues is the Ennyani venue which was built in 2010.
One of our most appreciated promises has always been the exclusivity our clients have to their venue. Each venue consists of its own romantic bridal suite, unique chapel, spacious function room, beautifully landscaped and well maintained gardens, and private parking area. Our charming chapels can seat up to 220 guests and our venues can seat up to 450 guests, we can also incorporate the verandah area for bigger functions. We also cater for small and intimate functions as well as bigger functions. Our Bridal suites are available for our brides to get dressed in on the morning of their wedding and the couple are then welcome to sleep the night in the honeymoon suite, breakfast included. We have overnight facilities on the estate where your guests can stay over on the night of the wedding or function. During the photo session the guests are invited to have a pre-arranged welcome drink in the beautiful garden.
